FYI: I have added a new page. And while I do realize that some might take offense to it... I don't care :)
And the painting a week thing- that's coming along decently. I'm keeping up so far (3 weeks down, only 49 to go). Hopefully the paintings get a little better after the rust wears off of my brushes because I'm afraid they're a little sub-par so far. (actually they're more of a bogey/double-bogey caliber, so that would be above par. I think that phrase needs to be ammended). I have taken pics of them, but those of course would be on the other computer, so stay tuned!

Here's a little something I thought was hilarious. Not entirely pc, but since my boyfriend is half native american, that makes it okay.... Why Native American Pizza Franchises Fail. The grammar cop stuff is pretty funny too. Gotta love a guy who has respect for grammar! :)

who has this much extra time to spend in their hotel room while they're on vacation? Although I'm sure my mom would appreciate me doing that under my paintings in her living room the next time they're out of town. She's a mom, she should like any art I make....
On that note, I'm planning on starting a painting-a-week project (on canvases, not walls). Most artists do a painting-a-day for a year, like this fella who does a peanut butter and jelly sandwich proud, but that's asking a bit too much from me. Unless of course I figured out some way to paint between golf shots. So, for those of you to whom I owe a painting or two, it looks like you might finally get them! I will add a gallery for those soon and I'll try to keep it updated. And if anyone has any ideas as far as subject matter- I'm always open to suggestion! I might tell you that your ideas are stupid... but suggestions are always good! :)

I just found out that my advisor and professor from Mac died recently and unexpectedly. He had hands-down the most intelligent, witty sense of humor I have ever run across that pervades his work. And his resume was so impressive that he could have easily been unapproachable and conceited, but he was always extremely personable and just plain nice. His death is a huge loss to both Mac and the art world at large. He had work shown at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Chicago Art Institute, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in addition to his annual show at the OK Harris Gallery in SoHo. He sent out and received resposes to his surveys from U.S. presidents, CEOs of huge companies, sports figures, etc. I wish he had his own website that showed some of his work because it is awfully impressive.
DON CELENDER, 1931-2005 Don Celender, 73, Conceptual artist and art professor at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn., died of cancer in a Pittsburg hospital on Mar. 3. One of the lighthearted prankster conceptualists of the 1970s, Celender originated Artball cards, a parody deck of collectible cards featuring famous artists as baseball players. He sent out extensive surveys to all kinds of people and exhibited the result, for instance asking prisoners, chefs and others for their ideas about art, to charming and touching effect, or sending outlandish but straight-faced proposals to museum directors, whose replies could be purposely or unwittingly comical. He was represented by OK Harris Gallery in SoHo, where he had 29 exhibitions during 1970-2004. (www. ...

On a completely unrelated sidenote: I have decided to rename golf "I win" (why? because I win.)

I got my pictures from NM up. There are a few little things that I’m still playing with in that picture gallery so sorry if things aren’t quite perfect yet. You get the gist though. If you click on one it will start a slideshow.
I don’t think the pictures adequately capture the sheer loveliness of it all, though. Okay, sitting by the pool reading a book: lovely. Mexico: not quite lovely but still fun.
Here's most of what we did in a nutshell. I got there Thursday (after a half-day’s delay thanks to the airline), we drove back to Las Cruces then sat by the pool and read, which is absolutely one of my favorite things to do ever (pretty sure that’s why I like camping and fishing). That night Jenny and I proceeded to get lost and drove around Las Cruces for a while on an “errand” (Jen was driving of course). Friday we did some pool time (finished book #1), then drove up to White Sands and spent the afternoon there. Did a little sandboarding, dug some holes, and proceeded to get san ...

FYI: I did not set off the metal detectors at the airport. The doctors weren't lying. This was the first time I had flown since my little accident so I was a little curious. But my head and I went through, no problem.
Oh, and Jon's still working on getting me set up with an image gallery, so the pics from NM will have to wait for a little while. Except this one I suppose:

Well I'm back in North Dakota and I'm not very happy about it. Our trip was great, but those stupid airplanes and all those germs flying around led to a nice little cold/flu thing going on, which luckily just decided to rear its ugly head last night and not ruin my trip. Needless to say, though, we've got crabby Kristy today so I don't feel like doing much. I will post some pics later. My sincerest apologies. Okay, not really. Time to get back to staring at the wall, feeling sorry for myself, and waiting for my head to explode....

hello. As you can see, my site is officially up and running- big thanks to Jon for hooking me up. On that note, the launch party will be on Saturday night in Las Cruces New Mexico. Free beer, cheap mexican tequila, and breakfast burritos for all who can attend! (NMSU students and Jin excluded)
In case it wasn't clear- I'm leaving for New Mexico later today! so I'll mess around with the site more when I get back. Bear with me for a little while until I can get everything figured out. But I'm sure I will have some good pics when I get back!
